When dealing with an ensemble cast of seven, it’s important that all the subtleties of each character be present and constantly working to create something that feels alive. Each character has a specific visual entrance that gives insight into who they are, and Marcella’s deft hand in piecing together these costumes says everything about these characters, before they even say a word themselves. But, there’s an art to wardrobe beyond design, and that’s being able to understand people and work with them so that they feel comfortable in costumes or clothes that they’d probably avoid in everyday life. Marcella was able to both carry out my vision and instill confidence in the actor, and to me that makes her a true professional.”
